For Joey, fishing is life. Growing up on a lake allowed Joey to literally grow up surrounded by fishing. From his first fishing trip at the ripe old age of 2 weeks old the path has been clear, Joey was born to fish.
At age 12 Joey started tournament fishing and the next 6 years proved to be great ones. With 2 Junior Bassmaster World Championship wins and 5 Washington State Championship wins Joey built an extremely successful youth career.
The early success paved the way for incredible opportunities. At age 25 Joey has now been competing in the Bassmaster Opens for 6 years and is also going in to his third season of hosting Sweetwater Fishing TV with his good buddy Miles Burghoff on NBC Sports, Sportsman Channel, and Fox Sun Sports. Doug Vahrenberg is a Professional Angler from Higginsville, Missouri that competes in the BASS Central Opens and has competed in the FLW Outdoors Events. He has Qualified for the BASS Tour, FLW Tour and has several money finishes and most recently Top 20 at the BASS Central Open on the Atchafalaya Basin in South Louisiana. Doug is most recognized by anglers and his peers as the “Side Imaging Guru” for his extensive knowledge of fishing electronics and helping other through YouTube Videos, helping on Internet Fishing Forums and other Social Media Outlets.
Doug is the only Non-Employee to win Johnson Outdoors Employee of the Year Award and has never worked for them. The Award recognized his contribution to field testing, product development and helping consumers with Humminbird, MinnKota and LakeMaster Products. He has been featured in numerous Magazine Articles Television Shows and other Media Outlets for his Sonar Knowledge and Fishing Skills. His other passion is collecting old fishing gear including a 1967 Super Skeeter, Humminbird Electronics and MinnKota Trolling Motors.

Doug started out fishing local farm pond with his father and brother and has moved up through the ranks; mainly by self taught trial and error learning the art of competitive bass fishing. He has extensive knowledge and understanding of the seasonal patterns of bass on a vast array of fisheries from farm ponds & lakes to the vast deltas, rivers & lakes. Doug is not afraid to share his knowledge and secrets about fishing or fishing electronics, trolling motors and accessories. Plus he is a 3rd Generation owner of a Farm Equipment Dealership in West Central Missouri.

Phil Taunton, What’s in Outdoors radio show host, is the founder of the What’s in Outdoors Fund and the Kansas Crappie Club. These are actively involved with getting youth, families, returning servicemen and people with disabilities “Outside for a Better Inside!”

Back by popular demand, the Kids Casting Pond was a great hit for the whole family. Come to the show and learn to cast, and to catch and release some catfish! There is no license requirement and it is stocked with fish. Also, they will be open every day of the show.
